This site is dedicated to the pre-hospital care provider, paid or volunteer (or both, “two-hatters” in Baltimore Co., MD parlience), who answers the call for help in his or her community.

The site is currently being utilized by a Baltimore County Fire Rescue Academy “I” class, scheduled to graduate in December of ‘05.
“Thank heavens that some of the most dedicated people in the fire service prefer the medical end of the job.  Today, that has become a huge part of the daily activities of most fire departments in this country.  The developments in EMS (emergency medical service) have resulted in tremendous improvements in the pre-hospital treatment phase of emergency medicine.  Day in and day out, nobody works harder or trains more in many departments than the paramedics.” -Michael Kernan, Battalion Chief, Baltimore City fire Department, from his book First Due: Baltimore
